I received the on the go portable knife to test. I really like it. I like the case that protects the knife. I think it is very creative. I took mine to work to cut cheese. It worked well. Recommend this product. A+

I also tested the on the go portable knife. I really liked it. My neice had her 4th birthday party at the park. My sister was worried that one of the kids might get a hold of the knife used for cutting the cake. I told her I had a knife I would bring. The kids didn't get there hands on a knife but my sister was very thankful. She and my mother both tried to get me to let them have the knife. I told them I totally love my portable knife and they will have to get there own.

I really like the on-the-knife, the case makes easy for me to through in purse, or bag w/out it being so noticable. I keep mine in my desk drawer  :)

I really like the On The Go Porable Knife, also.  My only complaint was that, because my hands are affected with arthritis, the case is a bit hard to remove.  The handle seemed slippery when it got wet, but that could also be b/c I don't have a very strong grip.  Overall, this is a great knife that I can use...it cuts great!

BTW, why is the product review card so limited in writing space?  Do most reviewers just write a shorthand review on it and then a more complete one here?  This was my first product review.

I loved mine as well. My family and I got on a lot of picnics. We actually went on one this weekend (French foods) so I had lots of cheeses. This knife cut through the cheese like butter. It was great bc it was covered and I do not have to worry about cutting myself. I really liked it a lot, very handy.

I am a new member and received the on the go knife. It's a great little gadget. Loved the case. It makes it really safe to take along and the blade was ultra sharp! My husband and I are sailors and love to take our Irwin 27 sailboat out every chance we get so this knife is a perfect sailing "buddy".

The portable on he go knife has worked super for me. I've had about 2 months and used it camping, on picnics and in the kitchen.

Camping:

It's very light weight, with a slip on, snap lock blade cover.  So the blade is protected (and your other stuff is protected from it).  It can pare, cut, and chop so it's the only cooking knife you'll need.  The blade width (as opposed to thickness) does not taper that much so you get good stiffness at the end of the blade and this makes for less work.  All around great feel.  10 of 10 at the camp! One idea for an additonal "bell or whistle" is a landyard on the handle end.

Kitchen:

We fell in love with the knife while camping so naturally we've kept it close by in the kitchen.  If you are thinking of buying a set of knives, buy this first.  The number of additional knives you think you want may decrease, saving you money. It's the first knife I grab in the kitchen; veggies, cheese, meat; it does'nt matter.  Even on a dense cabbage head with a diameter over twice the blade length, the "on the go" ended up being the knife I chose because it simply took the least time and effort.  No experience with sharpening yet.  Just has not needed it yet. 10 of 10 in the kitchen

Picnicing:  Take and go. No worries an uncovered blade cutting your nap sack. Much better food performance than jack knife which we've used extensively too.  10 of 10 at picnic.

Nice knife, you'll like it.

I also received and love the portable knife. It is very sharp, cuts all sorts of foods with ease, and it's hard plastic locking blade sheath makes it very safe to carry. Would recommend this to anyone and especially to those who go camping.

I have received the portable knife and absolutely love it.  I carry it in my lunch bag without fear of putting a hole in my bag.  The knife is very sharp and is so handy.  Thank you for allowing me to test.  I would highly recommend it to all my friends and family.

Not seeing this knife, who makes it,.  It sounds like part of a set I picked up sometime ago. Think it came from Pamper Chef.  Have got too many items to remember where I got them. (See, I don't always have a stoogie.)

I tried out the knife and really liked the cover that allows me to carry it around safely.  I, too, took it to work to slice cheese.  However, I tried to peel an apple with it, and found the blade to be a bit thick to peel nicely. The handle could stand to have a bit of a curve to it.  Overall, it is great.  I just had to remember to take it out of my purse, BEFORE  I went on a business trip.

I just recieved the knife & overall, I like it. However, the case was difficult for me to remove. Maybe it will get easier the more I use it.

I really liked the portable knife, my daughter of one loves fresh vegetables and fruits but it is very hard to carry a knife with you, but with this portable knife was able to cut her apples even bannanas where ever I was.  Thanks,  loved it.

I received my on the go portable knife and I like the knife. I personally though had problems with the sheath to store. I couldn't get it to lock around it. The knife itself though it a really good knife so it could be a user error. I didn't see any other posts by people that had problems.

Why are we still testing something that obviously came out in 2007 to be tested?  Yep, got the same thing only mine was dull and getting it out of the plastic case was nearly impossible.

Glad everyone else got one the could use over and over.  Getting it in or out of the case just wasn't worth my time.

I tested the On the Go Portable Knife....small and cute but, the button to push to open the knife was hard to work. The design was nice. Knife wasn't very sharp.

A good sharper should take care of that.

At first i was skeptical but then i started to really like it. the case does a good job at protecting not only the knife but also does not slip out of the case even if you keep tugging on it. i like it its compact holds its edge and a strong blade. very good for on the go and such as picnics, fishing, cutting sandwich, etc. i give this go portable kinfe an a+.
