Got a voice mail from Miss Tommie while I was out for a walk this afternoon. Called her back immediately. She sounds wonderful and hopeful again. What a pleasant and welcome surprise. Know Lloyd is happy to hear it....what a gift!
Lloyd - You're falling apart at the seams man....quit it. *S* Sorry to hear about your ankle and hernia. Guess its your body's way of telling you to slow down. Take the break like you know you need/should and you'll be back up sooner than if you push it.

Hello Family, Well as Deb told ya'll I have a hernia and kindda put a little strain on it and it kindda poke out a little. So Miss Tommie was told about it and she got on my case kindda goood, So Ellie made an appointment with my doctor and she sat me up with a Surgeon, and I had an appointment with him today. This all started Monday, so when we talked with Miss Tommie Tuesday she was kind of blue and a little depress, so Ellie and I made a quick trip to see her. It was the best medince for the both of us. We got back last night and I had my appointment today, and he is going to operate tomorrow at 2:30PM. Oh BTW, While I was visting She walked the full lenght of the parall bars and today she walked it TWICE, aint that cool. Anyway that is where we stand right now and will be off for a week then can't pick nuthin' over 25 lb for 6 weeks. I will keep you all inform of the progress

Lloyd,
Good to know that Miss Tommie felt well enough to get on your case when she heard, and sorry to hear she was down soon after.
Since I'm no longer sure what address is current, if you get the chance would you please PM or post a current address where I could send a little cheer to Miss Tommie?
My prayers are going out to both of you.

Hello Family .... I talked to Lloyd this afternoon. The surgury went good last night. It just took longer than expected. Of course Lloyd took a bit to long to get in so it was a bit worse than expected. Coures Miss Tommie already gave him a Donkey BBQ, (a good ol @$$ chewing).
Lloyd says he'll be out of the hospital tomorrow. Then he should be online a bit more since he will not be able to do to much for a bit.

Lloyd Baby BGC would have to straighten you out if you did anything silly (like not take care of yourself) but seems we would have to stand in line. So either take care, or paint the target in a safe place on yourself, that reads place foot here. I'm very glad that you are home and that in a short time you'll be 100% better. ML pickle

As most of you know I talk to Miss Tommie two or three times a day, Yesterday, she walked 21 feet with her walker. She said she had help from her chair but she walked by herself. She is really trying and it looks like her motorize chair is going to be deliver to the Rehab Center since she isn't suppose to using her right arm for anything but dialysis. Ellie and I found a Metal Snail, we are going to put on a larger rod and fit it to her chair, so she will have a "whip Antaina" where all can see her coming. And of course we are going to paint "Speedy" on it. We also found a tutle also, arn't we bad. Well I go to my doctor to see how I am doing tomorrow morning so will let you all know.

Lloyd,
I am so glad to hear that Miss Tommie is doing well and has been able to walk more than a couple of feet. I have been thinking about her and sent a card just yesterday. So glad she will have some snazzy transportation! Gee, isn't everyone supposed to have an antenna on their ride? How else is she going to hear all those truckers out on the highway? Just remember that it was that tortise that beat the rabbit and I bet Miss Tommie will zip along at a good clip.
You take care of yourself and don't loose too much weight, you will be a shadow of your former self!
Keeping you both in my prayers.
Blessings,
Mary

I told Miss Tommie about the suggested messages for her cart, She said "Hey why don't ya'll have a contest to see what everybody comes up with." So I am going to make a list of all we already have and aftwe a week or so, I will see that Miss Tommie gets them and let her pick the winner. I think Mike's blank white sign, says volumes without saying a word.

When I was in college I drove a red VW bug. When I would look for my car it was usually LOST! So I went to the bicycle shop and bought one of the florecent orange flags they use on kids bike and attached it to the bumper. I could always find my car then and it sure drew a lot of attention to me! There was one time after that when I lost it. I had a night class and I made sure to park right under a light so I could find it. When I got out........my car was gone! I was terrified because it was a long way from my house and about 11PM. So I looked all over for it and a few people stopped to help me. As I was standing by the light I parked under I suddenly realized that the "brown" VW (remember in 1976 EVERY college student drove one) had my liscense plate. I tried the lock on this ugly brown car and low and behold....it fit! The parking lot lights were a wierd yellow and made my red bug look brown. Boy was I embarrased. Anyway, Lloyd, think about a bicycle flag. You'll never loose her. Or tie a big mylar balloon on it. That's how I kept track of my kids when they were small.

Good Morning family, not much happening on this end, Miss Tommie is doing better daily (and if she has your phone number, you propably have been called, at least once.) It wont be long and she will be at the house, I believe, maybe as little as two weeks, she is working real hard to do that. And of course I am doing better also, hardly need anything for pain now. (I hate pain pills!) I go to get the staples out Thursday (23 of them) so the center of my body wont look like some one put in a zipper. Then I can go back to work. No lifting of course. All of this has put me about 2 months behind on my move to SA, so I need to get back on track.

Glad to see you are doing better and Miss Tommie too. She needs one of those key rings that has the lazer and death ray buttons so she can just zap others out of her way. Course the bumper stickers work too.
Prayers continuing for speedy recovery. Just don't you dare Over do it.

Hello Family, Well we made it thru the weekend and into class today. But I am sure glad it is almost over. We had fun at the Ron De'vou, but the kids would not let me do anything on my own, and at the end of the day my tummy was hurting bending over to cook on the open fire. I came up with a new recipe that turned out Grrrrrrrrrreater. And of course it was in a Cast Iron Pot, and every time I had to move it I had to get one of them to do it. I am not sure where to post it, but will check it out, I think we might need to start a topic on CI Cooking, Hu. Miss Tommie is still improving and they didn't even need the "Tommie Lift" on her today at Dialysis. The young man helped her out of her chair, and she walked to the bed and was able to get herself on it. Too Cool. After she got back to Rehab she went and worked out at PT, so she is really trying. She received another card at the Son's Place and they brought it to her, and she told me to relay how much she enjoyed getting them. Well it is about time to go home, so I will chat later. I was think of starting another topic page when she gets home, but might have to before then if this one keeps growing. hu.

Lloyd,
Thanks for the update on Miss Tommie, great to hear that she is on a mission and working daily towards the Gathering. Now, about you...how many times do we have to say "take care of Lloyd"?
I don't know about starting a new topic page...maybe you should keep it together. It brought a smile to my face today when I looked and saw over 5500 hits on The Silver Rose thread; I think it just shows how much everyone cares.
