Emile Henry’s Flame-Top Pot
MSRP: $165

Online Rating: (9/10)

Emile Henry’s 5.5-quart Flame-Top pot makes it easy to cook with ceramic ware. The pot cooks food evenly and thoroughly when used on top of the stove, in the oven, on the grill or even in the microwave. And the pot won’t crack when exposed to flames. The underside of the lid features raised dots that evenly distribute evaporated juices directly back into the food that’s cooking.

PROS
This is the lightest weight dutch oven I've ever owned. It works flawlessly on all cooktops. I've made stews and soups and served right from this pot. It's a lovely pot to use in the oven as well. Easy to lift out of the oven for frequent basting and stirring.

CONS
Must be handled gentle as it is easily breakable. My friend put hers in the sink when it was hot and added cold water. It broke instantly. Need to cool it down first, then clean.

OVERALL
I highly recommend this pot to anyone who likes the versatility of a dutch oven without having to pick up so much weight.

PROS
It cooks evenly just as advertised. And bastes as it cooks. Easy to clean

CONS
Be careful opening that lid! Moisture concentrates on the bumps on the under side of the lid and will drip all over the place. So remove the lid by tipping it up on one side and allow all the moisture to drip back into the pot before totally removing the lid.

OVERALL
Terrific! I originally bought it for my daughter with the real intent on giving it to her, but thought I'd try it out first. Now I have to buy another one for my daughter!
