Cat Litter Casserole

Ingredients :

1 cup Bisquick
1 cup Shredded Cheddar cheese
1 lb Ground beef, turkey or pork
Sausage

TO MAKE LITTER:

2 cup Long grain rice
3 3/4 cup Water
2 tsp Salt
2 tbl Butter or margarine

TOOLS:

lg Mixing bowl
Rectangular baking pan
Deep saucepan with lid
Fork
Paper towels
lg Spoon
Stainless steel pooper
Scooper

Method :

To make dumps: With an adult's help, preheat the oven to 350F. Using clean hands, mix together the dump ingredients in a large bowl. Mold pieces of this mixture into various size/shape dumps.

Place so they don't touch each other in an ungreased baking pan. Use two if they don''t all fit. With an adult's help, bake the dumps for about 20 minutes or until they are all brown, firm and slightly crusty.

While the meat cooks, put all four litter ingredients into a large saucepan. Then, with an adult's help, heat on high until the water comes to a boil. Stir, turn heat to low and cover the pan. Simmer without lifting the cover for fourteen minutes.

With an adult's help, remove the saucepan from the stove and carefully (to avoid having your face melted away by the steam), lift off the cover. Break apart, or "fluff" the rice with a fork and set pan aside.

When dumps are done, carefully transfer them onto paper towels to drain.

Spoon the rice and dumps into the now empty baking pan, leaving some dumps partially uncovered, the way Kitty does when he/she is in a hurry.

Serves 8-10 litterbox lovers. Use pooper scooper to serve.

I host a Halloween Party every year for my kids' and they absolutely love things like this. Yuck! EekerBut, totally gross!!!

Share some of your recipes and halloween ideas with me, please. It will be here before we know it. My theme is "Heaven and Hell". i.e. for those who pull slips with hell there is chili, dips, etc. for those who pull slips with heaven there is ice cream, sweets, etc. I divide the living room and decorate each side accordingly. Sweet and Savory. You get the idea. Thanks!

I don't have to tell you to buy a new pooper scooper, right?

worms on a bun

take hot dogs and slice the long way and boil. they will curl up when cooked and then put some ketchup on buns (and what ever else) and drop the "worms" on. i was suprised it really does look like worms!

Bleeding hand punch

Get some gloves that have NOTHING added to them and fill them w/Hawiian punch, tie them at the wrist and lay flat for a few days in the freezer to freeze good and solid.

Get a green liquid such as Kool-Aid or punch and fill the punch bowl w/the kool aid. Carefully remove the frozen hands from the gloves and put in the punch bowl. As the red hands melt they will "bleed" into the green punch. Don't worry if you break off the fingers... just throw the severed fingers in there also!

I have seen a cat litter cake as well. I am going to have to look around and see if I can find the recipe to share. They used Tootsie Rolls for the cat 'droppings'. Also uses a scooper to serve. They have nice metal ones that look like spatulas and can be used specifically for food use rather than as a pooper scooper.

We don't do Halloween like we used to as my son is in his 20's. We used to have Frankenstein's
'brains' in a bowl which was hidden from view. The children would put their hands inside and get scared. It was grapes and cold spaghetti. Then they got their treat.

I love Halloween as it is so much fun for the kids and those of us who never quite grew up.

I found the Cat Litter Cake recipe!

1 spice or German Chocolate Cake Mix, prepared
1 white cake mix, prepared
2 lg pkgs vanilla instant pudding mix, prepared
1 lg pkg vanilla sandwich cookies
green food coloring
12 small Tootsie Rolls

1 new kitty litter pan
1 new plastic kitty litter pan liner
1 new pooper scooper

Prepare cake mixes according to package directions and bake in any size pan.

Prepare pudding mix according to package directions and chill until ready to assemble.

Crumble vanilla sandwich cookies in small batches in food processor, scraping often. Set aside all but 1/4 cup crumbs. To the 1/4 cup crumbs add green food coloring. Mix until completely colored.

When the cakes are cooled to room temperature, crumble into a large bowl. Toss with 1/2 of the white cookie crumbs and the chilled pudding
IMPORTANT: Mix in just enough pudding to moisten; you don't want it too soggy. Combine gently.

Line the litter box with the plastic liner. Put the cake/pudding/crumbs mixture into the litter box.

Put 3 unwrapped Tootsie rolls in a microwave safe dish and heat until soft and pliable. Shape ends until they are no longer blunt, curving slightly. Repeat with 3 more Tootsie rolls. Bury them in the cake mixture. Sprinkle the other half of the cookie crumbs over the top. Scatter the green cookie crumbs
lightly on top. This is supposed to look like the chlorophyll in kitty litter.

Heat 3 Tootsie rolls in the microwave until almost melted. Scrape them on top of the cake.
Sprinkle with cookie crumbs. Spread remaining Tootsie rolls over the top. Take one and heat until pliable. Hang it over the side of the litter box, sprinkling lightly with crumbs.

Place the litter box on a newspaper and sprinkle a few cooke crumbs around for a truly disgusting effect. Serve with pooper scooper.

NOTE: Any type of cake can be used for this. You can layer it similar to a trifle: cake, pudding, cake, pudding, then the crumb topping with the tootsie rolls as previously described.

Creepy Witches' Fingers

Yield: 5 dozen

1 cup Butter, softened
1 cup Icing sugar
1 Egg
1 tsp Almond extract
1 tsp Vanilla
2 2/3 cups Flour
1 tsp Baking powder
1 tsp Salt
3/4 cup Almonds, whole blanched
1 Tube red decorator gel

Gross everyone out with these creepy cookies.
In bowl, beat together butter, sugar, egg, almond extract and vanilla. Beat in flour, baking soda, and salt. Cover and refrigerate 30 minutes. Working with one quarter of the dough at a time and keeping remainder refrigerated, roll heaping teaspoonful of dough into finger shape for each cookie. Press almond firmly into 1 end for nail. Squeeze in centre to create knuckle shape. Using paring knife, make slashes in several places to form knuckle.

Place on lightly greased baking sheets; bake in 325F (160C) oven for 20-25 minutes or until pale golden. Let cool for 3 minutes. Lift up almond, squeeze red decorator gel onto nail bed and press almond back in place, so gel oozes out from underneath. You can also make slashes in the finger and fill them with "blood."

Howdy B.K.!

Hot dangit! Looks like I got a theme here!

I know this will look soooooo real!

I had a big ole Tom Cat once. And this is what it looked like when I fed him something I should not have. Taught me, though. Cuz I had to clean it up, of course.

Lol, hope you have fun with it. Here's one more for you-

Cat Poop Cookies

There are two flavors: chocolate (dark brown), and gingerbread (light brown).

Note- If you use white flour or sugar they may be tastier but they won't look like ****.

Chocolate ingredients:
½ cup honey
2/3 cup butter, margarine, or lard
1 egg
1 tsp vanilla or peppermint extract
2 cups whole wheat flour
1/3 cup cocoa powder
Grapenuts (TM) cereal
Gingerbread ingredients:
¼ cup honey
¼ cup molasses
2/3 cup butter, margarine, or lard
1 egg
2 and 1/3 cups whole wheat flour
spices-ginger, cinnamon, cloves to taste (maybe 1/2 tsp each)
Grapenuts (TM) cereal

Mix-ins:
coconut (tapeworms)
chocolate chips
butterscotch chips
peanut butter chips
cooked spagetti or ramen noodles (roundworms)
corn
peanuts for the chunks
M&M's for the decoration

To make:
Microwave the honey till it bubbles (about 1 minute).
Add the butter, (Note: using lard makes for a more realistic texture and softer cookie) and the molasses, if any. Add the egg. Mix well, then mix in all the other stuff. Add mix-ins of your choice to some or all of the batter. Chill 1 hour in the freezer or several hours in the fridge. Roll dough logs of random length and the diameter of cat poops. Roll logs in grape-nuts. Bake at 350 degrees (F) till done
Note: about 15 to 20 minutes

Serving suggestion:
Serve in a disposable cat litter box on a bed of Grapenuts cereal, with a cat litter scoop. You can get lovely effects by decorating the box and scoop with melted chocolate or pudding.

Tip: mixing brown sugar with the Grapenuts "sweetens up the cookie a bit while still looking truly hideous."

The recipes sound great, but the names are
hysterical!! It's a far cry from the simple
carmel apples I had as a kid.I appreciate them
though,because we're planning a Halloween potluck where I work.And because I work in a
veterinary lab, they should get a boot out of
such things as "cat litter casserole" and
"cat poop cookies."Thank you everyone--

Another winner!!!!

Antoine came to the sight this morning to check the 'holiday' site and he says to me, check it out, Mom! Like, way cool! They will shovel this food in their mouths without being grossed out at all. Unbelievable.

Yes, Miss Beckie. I agree with you. We had the simple things year after year. They had brainwashed us. Our kids' are smart.

I had a halloween party a couple of years ago and featured a shot called bloody brains. You layer the ingredients in:
vodka (optional) on the bottom
kaluha
then very gently pour in a raspberry liquor (whatever you can get)
The sweet liquor will curdle the kaluha and it looks like brains I swear!
Mymother thought they tasted great and she still talks about it today.

Melba,

To go with your cat theme, you might want to find some toy mice or bugs and even a kitty. I will see if I can find a recipe to go with them as well. I was amazed at the amount of recipes they have out there to gross the kids out for Halloween.

I am from the bobbing for apples generation myself. I kind of miss it, but I am the one who took my son to the local haunted house each year after he was too old to go trick or treating.

I found choclate mice! Here is the recipe:

Chocolate Mice Candies

4 - 1 oz squares semisweet chocolate
1/3 c. sour cream
1 c. finely crushed chocolate wafer cookies

1/3 c. chocolate cookie crumbs
1/3 c. confectioners' sugar
24 siliver dragees decorating candies
1/4 c. sliced almonds
12 long red vine licorice

Melt the chocolate and combine with the sour cream. Stir in 1 cup chocolate wafer crumbs. Mix well. Cover and refrigerate until firm.

Roll by level tablespoonfuls into balls. Mold to a slight point at one end (the nose).

Roll dough in confectioners' sugar for white mice or chocolate cookie crumbs for dark mice.
On each mouse, place dragees in appropriate spot for eyes; almond slices for ears and a licorice string for the tail.

Refrigerate for at least 2 hours until firm.

what they were, our mothers wouldn't have let us.
It wouldn't have been "proper"or "ladylike."
Things have definately changed for the better!

You stuff the centers of the onions with the olives using the cream cheese for glue--and if some cream cheese squishes out the back to make a 'tail' to represent a detached eyestalk, all the better.
I haven't actually tried this yet--I was just reading "Nanny Ogg's Cookbook" for fun, and thought this might be a good one.
It should be possible to come up with variations on this--using a cheeseball instead of an onion maybe.

Another eyeball theme--tonight I'm going to try making rumballs and use m&m's for pupils. I hope it works.
